Get in Touch

This is not a government office. Tippah County Busted Mugshots cannot confirm custody, release anyone, post bond, or retrieve an official booking record. Contact the responsible public office directly for those actions.

Tippah County Records Contacts

The sheriff is the official first contact for the county jail-docket path and a current county-custody question. The county page publishes a main number, not a separate records line. Call and ask for the records or jail-docket contact, then send a written public-records request to the street address when a record or photo is needed.

Tippah County Sheriff’s Office

Phone: 662-837-9336

For a court record, Justice Court is at 205-B West Spring Street, Ripley, MS 38663, 662-837-8842. The Circuit Clerk is at 102-A North Main Street, first floor, Ripley, MS 38663, 662-837-7370. Justice Court handles many initial appearances and affidavit steps. The Circuit Clerk maintains later criminal filings, indictments, motions, and judgments.

Where to Direct a Request

Use the office that created or keeps the record. A city police report and a county jail booking are not necessarily held by the same custodian.

  • For a county booking entry, current custody question, or booking image request: start with the Tippah County Sheriff’s Office.
  • For a Ripley event report: contact Ripley Police Department at 662-837-2215; dispatch is 662-837-7296.
  • For a Blue Mountain event report: use the town’s current official contact route and ask where requests are accepted.
  • For a Walnut event report: identify the requested city record clearly when calling 662-837-9336, the number also published as the sheriff’s main line.
  • For a later criminal outcome: ask Justice Court or the Circuit Clerk for the case number and records path.
  • For state custody: use the Mississippi Department of Corrections search or written records process.
  • For federal or immigration custody: use the BOP or ICE official locator that matches the known custody system.

Written Public-Records Requests

Put “Mississippi Public Records Act request” at the top of a written request. Supply the person’s full name, date of birth when needed, arrest or booking date range, arresting agency, and the individual records sought. Ask separately for a jail-docket entry, booking report, event report, photo, bond or release detail, and a written denial identifying any exemption. Request an actual-cost estimate before copying.

The county booking-record path explains the sheriff request, Mississippi’s timing rules, and the difference between a current custody inquiry and an older records request. The sheriff’s site does not publish a records email, a booking-photo fee, or office hours, so verify these items with the office before sending material.
